Ephesians 3:14-19

When we trust in Christ we are adopted into the family of God. The Creator of the universe becomes our father. 

But we don't always feel adopted. We don't always feel like a beloved son or daughter.

When our souls lack this confidence in God's love, we have a tendency to act - and react - as if we're spiritual orphans needing to look out for ourselves and take control of circumstances. 

Thankfully, God loves us so much that He doesn't just want us to believe in our heads that He loves us, but to also feel His love through the work of the Holy Spirit.
