Matthew 24:1-14

The disciples come to Jesus and ask when He will bring an end to the current state of affairs.

When will all this brokenness and oppression end? When will the political turmoil end? When will the high taxes and injustices be stopped? When will God make right all that has gone wrong?

Sound familiar?

Jesus’ answer doesn’t give them a timetable, but it gives them a purpose.

It doesn’t speak to their felt need for control, but it does speak to their need for joy when things feel out of control.
