Matthew 16:13-20

Most people in America believe in Jesus. The question, however, is who do they believe Jesus to be? Is he a good teacher? A moral philospoher? An inspiring example to follow? Is he one of many paths to God?

Jesus asked his disciples "Who do people say that I am?" and they had various answers. But then Jesus asked them, "Who do YOU say that I am?" And Peter spoke up, having a revelation from God the Father.

This revelation is the rock on which the church is built. It's why none of us can boast in our salvation,  and it's why we cannot share our faith with others without praying for them to have the same revelation.
