Stolen Property

Does it sound to you like we are owning stuff that no longer belongs to us?

Listen to our words:

My sorrow

My pain

My loneliness

My lust

My addiction

My anger

My fear

My fatigue

My confusion

My lack

My depression

My anxiety...

We forfeit our peace when we fail to recognize the victory Jesus has won for us on the cross. Once, for all!

Romans 6:6 (Message)  "Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life—no longer captive to sin’s demands!"

The curse, to which we illicitly cling, has no place in us.  We're stealing it back illegally, every time we claim it as 'mine'.

Also in the Message, Galatians 3:13 says,

"Christ redeemed us from that self-defeating, cursed life by absorbing it completely into himself. Do you remember the Scripture that says, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”? That is what happened when Jesus was nailed to the cross: He became a curse, and at the same time dissolved the curse. And now, because of that, the air is cleared and we can see that Abraham’s blessing is present and available for non-Jews, too. We are all able to receive God’s life, his Spirit, in and with us by believing—just the way Abraham received it."

There is no curse in Heaven.  This freedom is for us now, in this life. The Comforter, the Holy Spirit, longs to impress upon us, that we are redeemed, bought at a very dear price, and set free.

Can we try agreeing with Him? Then, let's say so.

Wow, “in listening to our words” this is so true, but in our earthly bodies we are all works in progress. Trusting in God and thankful for Jesus, laying it all at the foot of the cross!

Thank you Donna for this reminder. Christmas paid it all. Recieve His gift humbled by His sacrifice. Only Jesus!!
I love how you emphasize the, "listen to our words section," "my pain, my sorrow...etc." it shows your point of how sometimes we do wrongly own or cling onto these things. In Christ the old is gone, and the new has come, Amen Donna. Really like how you articulated this. We are new in Christ, let's start believing and acting like it!
