He Knows…

During this past week as I was praying, I found myself asking God if I could see His will in all of this. I had a vision. I saw the earth and it was all covered in a huge snow storm. I immediately thought of the scripture: “Come now, and let us reason together:”, Says the Lord, “Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool”. – Isaiah 1:18I thought about the spiritual and the practical in both the scripture and the vision.

Practically, God has shut down the world, like a giant snow storm. It is not isolated to a small part of the world, it is in the entire world and whether we want to or not we are pausing, slowing down, and even shutting down completely. What a thought, what a God! Our world has gone to the far extreme in the last 20 years with work schedules surpassing 60 hours a week, stores open 24 hours, kids involved with so much that a normal family dinner together has turned into a special occasion. But look at what God is doing now…

And the environment is breathing again too. A photo from space shows the pollution that once encapsulated China, is now almost gone. The canals in Italy are running clean. What else can be changing for the better because God said, “stop.”

Families are home together, schedules have ceased, sports are on hold, people are reaching out to each other because they care not because they need to meet a deadline. What a God.

Spiritually, I see God extending His amazing grace onto His people who for the most part have turned their backs on Him and have chased after other gods, unknowingly at times, but none the less, God has taken a back seat.

For the unbeliever, I am praying that they come to the end of themselves and surrender to the God of the universe, the only One who is in complete control of all that is taking place and Who is allowing it all to take place. Because He loves His creation more than we can ever imagine, He is allowing His world to pause, stop, reflect, get scared, cry out and run into His arms.

For the believer, I see it as a time to get on our knees and ask our Lord to forgive us and heal our land. We need to build up our spiritual life so that we can represent Jesus with boldness to a lost and dying world, who for the first time in history, has come to a stop.

I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them. – Psalm 139:14-16

A believer does not need to fear, if you truly believe that our Heavenly Father, our Daddy, knows the number of our days before we had one of them, then that means our days have not changed because a virus has been made known around the world. If our name is written in the Lambs book of Life, than we should instead rejoice in His sovereignty and spend time telling those who have not yet met Him, our Savior Jesus Christ, how they too can know Him and receive His salvation and peace. He is calling His children to Himself during this time. We need to listen, pray and say, “Here I am Lord, send me”…because He knows.
