It has hurt more of our relationships than we probably know. It has caused us to be overly-defensive, fearful of rejection, and insecure about what others think of us.

It is usually why we have gossiped about people, judged their motives too

quickly, and have secretly celebrated their difficulties. 

It is often the real reason why we don't show up to family events, friends' birthday parties, and church gatherings.

And it always negatively affects - either directly or indirectly -- our relationship with God.

Jesus warned us about this many many times.

Jesus also offers a way out.
