Healing for Liz Mack

In 2010 my life was drastically changed. I was filled with an overwhelming feeling that I needed to find a church and renew my relationship with God. In August I started my journey back into God’s fold. It was an amazing time in my life I felt the best I ever had. In October I had a routine surgery and three days later I was given the news that I had a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Long story short I was told that I had at the most three years to live. As my doctors were giving me the news, their eyes filled with tears, I remember laying there wondering why they were so upset. You see never, not even once , did I feel worried or scared or that I was a victim. It was an extremely strange feeling since I knew what they were saying was supposed to be devastating news.

One year later my cancer spread to my lungs and I had most of my lower left lung removed however three months after that there were many more nodules Now in both lungs. Still I never had a moment of doubt. I knew and still know that God is in complete control and He will take care of me in the way He desires. Many hours of prayer have led to many years of living with my “ terminal” stage 4 illness.

God did speak to me and let me know that it is not his desire to heal me at this time but to use my illness and my life for His purpose. I think it’s important for people to understand that healing doesn’t always mean being freed from your illness. You see although the doctors tell me that my body is sick God has healed my spirit, He has healed my mind. He allows me to live everyday, if I’m feeling weak or strong with peace knowing He is in control. I have the opportunity everyday to witness to people about the awesomeness of my God and they see the proof at work as I continue to live without fear and with great joy everyday even though the doctors can’t explain how I’m even alive 7 years latermuch less functioning at the level I am. Of course I have no problem telling them...it’s God!
