What is fasting? 

God requires his people to humble themselves and show our dependence on Him, and a simple, practical way to humble ourselves is through fasting.

Fasting is a way to express to God, "As hungry as I am right now for physical food, I’m more hungry for YOU! As much as I depend on food for physical strength, I'm more dependent on YOU for spiritual strength and wisdom and breakthrough!"

When we give up eating, we are deliberately turning away from our natural needs and  turning TO God to invite the supernatural.

For the remaining four weeks of Lent, you are invited to join us in fasting on Thursdays for the first 3 weeks, and then a two-day fast on the last week.

You can choose three different “levels” of fasting -- though nobody will be policing you, of course. It’s just for you to have a plan in your head. See below. 

And if you want to receive texts or emails during fast days, you can indicate that on the sign-up form: I'm in to fast with you guys.
