Advent: Day 3
1‘Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.’ – Revelation 22:12-13
At Christmas time it is common to focus on Jesus’ first coming, as the baby in the manger. The very power of God Himself wrapped up within a helpless infant. It’s a beautiful picture of meekness, strength under control. Yet, Jesus reminds us at the end of the Bible, in the book of Revelation that He is returning not as a helpless baby, but as our Conquering King. He is the beginning and the end and His return will usher in the new Heaven and the new earth. That is who we celebrate each Christmas as we gaze upon the manger scene. Let us not forget Who it is we are celebrating and worshipping. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords, our Savior Jesus Christ.

Wow! What a great perspective. The Lord has just provided me with such encouragement through that devotion.
