In this passage a woman knows she is not worthy to receive from Jesus what she asks for, and yet she asks, anyway. And she keeps on asking, with persistent faith. She does not try to barter with Jesus or promise to do better, but simply appeals to His grace. 

Then Jesus says something about her that He has not yet said about anyone else in the gospel of Matthew.
