Exodus - Pt. 28: The Games We Play
November 9, 2021 Speaker: Chris Francis Series: Exodus
Exodus 32:1-8
The people of Israel grow tired of waiting for Moses to come down from the mountain, and so in their uncertainty they ask Aaron to make a golden calf that they can worship instead.
This is the great temptation for us as we face uncertainty in our lives. The uncertainty leads to stress, and the stress causes us to go grasping for certainty in something - or someone -- other than God.
And then, at least for followers of Jesus, we tend to justify this "idolatry" by playing religious games.
We need to confront these games, repent of them, and determine if we are IN to follow Jesus no matter what uncertainty comes our way.
