Exodus 16:3-21

The Israelites face a lack of food and begin to worry and grumble. to Moses & Aaron. God responds by proving for them bread from heaven that forces them to rely on Him on a daily on-going basis. 

In the same way He brings us to places of need and lack so that we can learn to cry out to Him for our daily bread, daily mercies, daily grace, daily strength.

In this daily dependence God wants us to learn there is a difference between knowing that we can trust Him, and actually trusting in God and God alone.
