The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant in Matthew 18:21-35

In this broken world, forgiveness is risky. We are easily taken advantage of when we are too quick to grant mercy.

This is why we like to have a lot of qualifications and limits on how many times we should forgive.

But while Jesus does not diminish the hurts done to us, he does paint a different picture of forgiveness. In essence, where one's heart has been transformed by the kingdom of heaven (the reign and rule of God), forgiveness is the natural fruit.
