1 Corinthians 7:17-31
On one hand, our culture doesn't take marriage seriously enough, with 42-45% of first marriages ending in divorce, 60% of second marriages ending in divorce, and 73% of third marriages ending in divorce.
But on the other hand, our culture takes marriage and romantic love too seriously, seeing it as the end-all solution to our loneliness and lack of purpose.
In this passage the apostle Paul basically tells the Corinthian church: "Life is too long to take marriage and singleness too seriously."
