1 Corinthians 1:10-17

We are all prone to have divisive attitudes towards others. We are all prone to want to elevate ourselves at the expense of others. 

But some cultures make it easier to live out this attitude.

That was the case for the city of Corinth. 

And that is the case for our culture as well. 

In this passage Paul begins to tackle the specific issues which the church in Corinth was facing, starting with the problem of divisions and factions. He shows us that when our differences are on the front-burner, the cross of Jesus is on the back-burner.
