As we examine one of Jesus' most popular parables, we consider the context of the scene. Jesus had a reason for telling this parable to an expert in the Jewish law. 

What was that reason? 

Because understanding why Jesus told this parable could make the difference between us hearing this parable and becoming more prideful, more ashamed of ourselves....or more thankful to God for his grace.
